As the world continues struggling to find solid footing in the midst of this pandemic our friends and neighbors in Kenya are plunged into even more desperate times.

Through Saved By God’s Grace food programs many families were receiving food on a monthly basis but now that markets are shut down, a curfew is set and schools are closed those families and others are seeking assistance for food NOW.  They are trying to feed their children, parents and some are even sharing what little they have with their neighbor.  We could use your help in feeding widows, orphans and families.

Saved By God’s Grace recently helped purchase several bags of maize for distribution.

We had a list of 90 households who would receive food.

Even the little ones wanted to help.  I love the excitement of the girl and the look of effort on the boy in yellow!  They were as happy to see food as their parents.

Although the gates were locked, several tried jumping over the walls just to get in line for food.  Thankfully all 90 households we had on our list received food, along with others once that was distributed.

It got quite chaotic and the police were needed to help disperse the people and keep order.

As you can see there were a lot of people waiting for food and the suggestion for “social distancing” was not adhered to, but with people hungry they wanted to make sure they got food.

I was happy to see this woman taking precautions by wearing a mask.

Please join me as we pray for the health, safety and provision for all these families.

The children too received a treat of sweets!

It may not seem like much to us but believe me, when a child in Kenya receives a sweet (sucker/candy) they are overjoyed!  These sweets aren’t an everyday treat so to be able to give these children a little bit of special treatment warms my heart!

All our families then took their food home.

Nothing was left to waste either, every kernel of maize was picked up.

I know times are uncertain for many of us and I do pray God brings you peace in your days of “shelter at home” and “social distancing”.

Please, if your heart is broken by the knowledge of people going hungry, right now, I ask that you prayerfully consider a donation to Saved By God’s Grace.  We are doing all we can with the resources God has given us to feed, shelter and bring hope to many families in Kenya. With your help we can do even more.

Thank you and God Bless.
