Open dorms

At the top of the dorms you can see where the roof and the walls do not connect, leaving an area for creatures to come into the dorms and make themselves at home.  One day (on our last trip in 2008) the boys came running to Chuck, “dad, dad, come see!”  Keep in mind, this was only a few days after the boys said the same thing and Chuck found them chasing a green mamba, saying “we eat, we eat!”  Thank God they didn’t catch it, the snake got away!

Upon hearing the boys saying the same thing and running towards him, he ran to see what they were chasing now!  Instead they took his hand and led him to their dorm room, peeked their heads inside and pointed to the ceiling.  Chuck looked up and found a couple of bats hanging from the ceiling in the corner.  Chuck’s been around bats before and he isn’t creeped out by bats, snakes or insects (that doesn’t mean he likes them, he would rather not have them around the kids!)  I’m just thankful the kids didn’t come to me (reminds me of the giant grasshopper) because I would have been quite freaked out

The boys did not want to sleep in that room until the bats were gone and asked Chuck to get rid of them!  Which he did and the next day talked to Gideon about closing up the opening at the roof line of the dorms.

Now all the rooms are enclosed with no opening for flying creatures to visit the kids!  Thank you supporters.  These types of projects (along with feeding, clothing, educating etc. the kids everyday) need your help through donations, please prayerfully consider helping Saved By God’s Grace.  To see some of the projects we are currently working on or in need of starting you can visit us here.
