One thing the Lord has cultivated in my life this past year are friendships.  He has brought some beautiful women into my life, women who love the Lord, want to serve Him and are willing to listen to my issues involved with moving to Kenya.  One is an empty-nester encouraging me for that final day when we leave our kids here in the states – she prayed asking the Lord to fill that void with the laughter and interaction with the kids in Kenya.  One has promised to send me little care packages of girlie things (lotion, lip gloss etc.).  One said she could be my accountability partner in making sure Chuck and I set apart time to enrich our relationship as a married couple.

If one falls down,
his friend can help him up.
But pity the man who falls
and has no one to help him up!  (Ecclesiastes 4:10)

I thank God for these new-found friends, friends who I’ve only met this past year but feel close to because of our shared love of Jesus.  My prayer is that I can be as good a friend to them as they have been to me!
