I just finished reading The Silver Chair by C.S. Lewis (part of the Chronicles of Narnia series). I’m reading them in publication order: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Prince Caspian: Return to Narnia, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (heard this is a very good movie!), The Silver Chair, The Horse & His Boy, The Magician’s Nephew and The Last Battle. However I’ve come to a stopping point because I have all but The Horse & His Boy and The Magician’s Nephew, so now I’m onto 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne and Forgotten God by Francis Chan.
Reading 20,000 Leagues is strictly for entertainment, but Forgotten God is more in depth. Chan has a list of things that should be a part of our life if the Holy Spirit dwells within us, so I’m studying one a day (along with continuing to read the entire book), praying for that particular characteristic to be a part of my life. For example, the first one is – “The Spirit helps us speak when we are in precarious situations and need to bear witness (Mark 13:11; Luke 12:12).” He has other interesting questions and thoughts and I don’t want to skim over them too quickly or dismiss as irrelevant to my life – after all the entire Bible is relevant and the questions and thoughts direct me to scripture!
Please let me know what you are reading, why you’re reading it and what you think about it. I love to hear book suggestions (and who knows, they may end up on my wish list!)
Currently reading The Chronological Bible, it’s rearranged to be in chronological order and The Tulip Touch, a terrible book written for young readers. I’m just reading cause it was on the shelf.
You should join Shelfari.com and friend me, a great place to find books and read and write reviews. Plus easy to keep track of your library.
