Didn’t have anything earth shattering to post about today so I thought I’d give you a peek into what’s happening here lately.
We’ve been here over a year now and I may have driven a car about 3 times since moving here. I say this so you can understand my “cabin fever” once in awhile. When I’m able to get a ride into town, even though I’m not driving, it’s a sweet taste of freedom! Today was one of those days. James, Gideon and Pauline’s eldest, drove me into Tala to get A LOT of errands done. Unfortunately (for me) James leaves next week for Nairobi and will be gone for a few weeks…there goes my ride.
Chuck is working on the title for the property…such a fiasco to say the least. Definitely a different way of doing things over here than what we are used to. I am not involved with this process and it’s probably better that I’m not because I’m sure I would make the situation worse.
Trying to get the right color of uniform for a kid (she’s borrowing one right now) and you would think that would be easy…yea right! The ONE place I can get a uniform in Tala doesn’t have the right type of uniform (they have jumpers instead of dresses) and is this blue the same as that blue? Confusing, but the shop worker gave me a sample of the material so I can at least match the color…we’ll see about the type next 🙂
Wondering why my internet modem has suddenly begun switching back and forth between HSDPA, WCDMA, EDGE and GPRS. Hopefully it won’t affect the connection – one can hope, right!?
Upgraded my Firefox (while I was having good internet connection) and now things look different…time to find out where everything went!
Finding out if Nutella is the same as chocolate peanut butter? Any thoughts?
Watching Fargo and wondering why I find that movie so funny when it should be disturbing!
Thinking I should make some muffins with the dried cherries a friend sent.
Helping a friend with transport issues for 2 kids needing to get to Nairobi for a doctor’s appointment.
Feeling helpless because when we help one person it seems another is right behind also needing assistance. Praying for discernment in this area.
Watching the antics of our new kitten, Patches, who makes me have a good laugh at least once a day!
Questioning my attitude towards those around me. Holy Spirit help me to love.
Asking myself what I should write about on the blog…I got nothin’ and that’s why you are getting this type of post!
Figuring out how I can meet with a secondary student who is already in school…you are probably saying, just go to the school and talk to her, right? First I have to find a ride there then make sure it’s a day Pauline is there (it’s a student at her school) so I am, hopefully, not sitting there the entire day waiting. You see it will most likely be a full day just to have maybe a 10 minute conversation with this kid.
You see, nothing earth shattering and I’m sure I’m forgetting something…like not cleaning and instead playing my game 🙂 But when it’s just life happening is when I am struck with the realization that God is here, throughout each and every moment. I just pray I am following the Lord’s will for my life before, during and after these mundane times in life.
