Been thinking (yea I know, dangerous huh?!) about being here 1 year and asking myself some hard questions:

  • Have I learned anything?
  • Has God used me in some way?
  • Will it get easier?

Honestly I can’t really answer them either.  I want to say God is everything but then why am I still aching to see friends, family and my kids?  Does having God as the center and all of my life mean those feelings will disappear?  What am I being prepared for and am I learning the lessons along the way?

Guess I have more questions than answers at this point but while struggling with these (and believe me, many more) questions my devotional this morning had this to say:

Your training for a life of faith requires many areas of learning, including the trial of faith, the discipline of faith, the patience of faith, and the courage of faith.  Often you will pass through many stages before you finally realize the result of faith-namely, the victory of faith.  Streams in the Desert

Passing through the stages is also a reminder of something else I read once which stated living life is like going through the birthing process it isn’t easy but it’s necessary.  It helps me to see the struggles, frustrations and sadness as just another step in the birthing process and pray God will “bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” (Phil.1:6 ESV)
