I must admit, I’ve lived a pretty sheltered life – granted my childhood (as with many people) wasn’t ideal with an alcoholic father and all that brings with it but God blessed me at a very young age (15) with my husband whom I’ve known for over 30 years and been married to for 28 years!  Chuck has been my support throughout all those years and continues to take very good care of me 🙂

Along the way though I’ve had to learn that Chuck isn’t my “savior”, God is and that’s where the rub comes in.  Am I trusting God or simply being naive that things will just work out?  In our previous life (those years before answering God’s call to move to Kenya) Chuck made sure things worked out, that’s his personality and one reason I think God brought us together…I’m totally the opposite 🙂  Being here in Kenya though it isn’t that simple anymore – it probably wasn’t ever “that simple” but that’s part of my sheltered life experience.

There are things that can’t be worked out by human efforts – changing a heart, moving a soul to sacrifice or a myriad of other concepts that not only I seem to be encountering but am in need of help with too.  These things can, however, be changed by God and I’m learning to trust Him in all things and live life according to His will and purpose for my life and those around me.

So whether that be trust or naivete’ I’m leaning on God to work it out.
