Reading my devotional the other day something hit me (no not the “heavenly body” that hit nearby recently)…and not necessarily a truth revealed but more like a truth emphasized or clarified.  “My grace is sufficient for you…”  I’ve heard this statement from others and I’ve said it to myself and encouraging friends.  But this day the devotional focused on the word “is”.  Notice it doesn’t say will be sufficient, or may be sufficient but IS sufficient.  That’s a promise from God, not a prayerful request from me, as in “please let your grace be sufficient for whatever it is I’m going through”.  His grace is already sufficient and to doubt that is to doubt the word of God.  Well, I was a doubter.  I had prayed for God’s grace to be sufficient when I should have been trusting that it is sufficient, yesterday, today and tomorrow.  I looked back over the past year and a half and can honestly say His grace is sufficient because I could see that it had been so I knew it would continue to be, despite my lack of faith.

Funny how such a little word can make a world of difference, but I’m loving that little word “is”!
