Here is another great testimony of how your supports is giving not only food, shelter and clothing to these kids, but also hope for their future. Francisca told us that with the second funding that we had sent over to her (for Eldama Ravine) she told the children with that money they would now be able to have chapatti (which is a real treat for everyone) and beef every Tuesday and Thursday. Their regular diet was ugali (flour and water mixture) and cabbage every night from January to December. They would now have variety in their diets. The children were so happy they praised God and told Francisca that now they were like “normal children” who were able to eat different things. When she told me this I started to cry – what a difference a little support did for these children. Before they felt like outcasts but now they see they are loved. They are always telling Francisca how faithful God is and she told us that she is learning so much from these children, as am I! I thank my Father for His faithfulness and that He is using these children to teach me a lesson or two about His love for us all!
We had a birthday party for Peter at Eldama Ravine. He turned 17 and was very bashful but I finally got him up front so we could sing him Happy Birthday. We all had cake, juice, biscuits and sweets – yes it was a sugar rush for the kids but they loved it and so did we! Then we spent the afternoon playing net ball (without a net – so that’s on the to-do list!) It was a joy to hear the kids playing and laughing and enjoying their day together.
That is a great testimony, and hearing things like that makes all the work worth it.
