Yesterday we were able to accomplish quite a bit in Nairobi, which really surprised me! Chuck got information on water tanks (prices, sizes, strengths, etc.)which will be used in the new shamba area. He also found out information for a pump, which will be used for the well that services the children’s home(the existing pump will be moved to the new shamba area). Plus we were able to deliver some paperwork to the NGO Council.
Since we were blessed with good timing we went and had dinner with Lewis, Bosco and Ann (Bosco’s wife, not to be confused with Ann C4KK’s house mom).
After dinner we basically returned to the room and used the fast internet!
Today we were able to check out prices for school supplies…kids will be returning to school soon and need some supply replenishment! We also found a few needed items for the Home.
Bosco tested thermoses…he said a good one you are supposed to be able to hear the ocean. He finally found a good one!
This cool looking tree is outside our door at the hotel. Just wanted to share that with you!
Bosco and Ann left today after we showed them a few”American-type” malls. They said they had never seen anything like it before and other than Ann almost falling backwards off the escalator (had never seen or been on one before) they enjoyed the sights.
Now we are back in our room and it’s been a bit frustrating because although internet is fast electricity has been sporadic. We didn’t bring our step-down machine to plug our computers into (without this we need to remove the battery so as not to ruin it by charging it at 220 volts) so whenever electricity goes out it shuts down the computer 🙁 So that means I’m writing this post from my phone!
Sorry for the light details but my finger is going numb from using swype!
