I can’t believe the year 2012 is almost coming to a close! Wow that went by quickly didn’t it? Funny how moving up one numeral (2012 to 2013) can bring about thoughts of renewal. For me that renewal seems to be rearing its head by thoughts of revamping our website. I’ve been perusing sites to find free, fun templates to use but have been limited not only by my knowledge of where to look but also the speed of the internet itself. (If anyone has suggestions where to find these templates I’d love to hear from you…we use Joomla 2.5.x)
Anyway, I’m hoping to continue working on it and unveil an updated website….hopefully not at the end of 2013!
Well enough of the future, today the kids decided to begin watching the Harry Potter movies for our Saturday movie time. None of them have heard of Harry Potter so I told them if they did not like this one we’d move onto something else (I’m hoping they like it!). And I just had 6 kids come in for exercise books, pencils and sharpeners, guess they’ve been writing a lot at school! Plus the tutor is about to show up to teach for the afternoon.
You know, I was talking with someone a few days ago and told them how much I loved seeing the kids act “normally”. Meaning they aren’t worried about where their next meal is coming from, if they’ll be kicked out of school, or if they are wanted here. They are getting comfortable (ok most of them are) with coming to the office and asking for supplies. They’ve even broached the subject of visiting their families during the December break. Thank you Jesus for this opportunity and may it be Your glory that shines through, because it is only by Your grace this has happened.
