Who’s your friend?

Building friendships is not an easy thing to do no matter where you live or what culture you are in.  It takes time, sacrifice and willingness (plus a mutual language is usually helpful).  I’ve been missing relationships lately…friends to have coffee with, who I know and they know me, family who love to watch movies with me or just sit around talking.  Sometimes I miss my kids so much it literally hurts but am I putting too much emphasis on relationship building?  Not that I don’t think it’s important but shouldn’t I sit down with God, have a cup of coffee and just talk?  Shouldn’t I get to know Him better?  Shouldn’t His friendship be more fulfilling than any other?

Perhaps when I begin to take that to heart new friendships will begin to blossom.  Until then I think I’ll go have a cup of coffee with my Friend.

I have called you friends…John 15:15

I'm a mom to 4 beautiful, young adults in the U.S. and 28 (and counting) children in Kenya. God has allowed me and my husband, Chuck, the privilege of bringing the Gospel to them in a physical way. By providing for their basic needs through our US ministry, Saved By God's Grace and our Kenyan ministry, Caring For Kenya's Kids, they are seeing the love of Christ.
