Some of you may remember C4KK recently assisted 73 of the most needy children from the local primary school with a new school uniform and shoes.

We have completed that project and some of the guardians wanted to thank us.  Believe me we tried to dissuade the principal from making a big deal out of it, but they wanted to show their appreciation.  A few of the guardians came to C4KK last week and presented us with a few items.

We do thank them for the gifts but what really touched my heart was the gift they presented for the kids.

These are women who have very little for themselves and their children/grandchildren.  Most are sleeping on the ground, don’t have enough food each day and all were unable to purchase the required school uniform for attending school yet they laid before us their gifts of appreciation.  This food was literally an abundance for each of these families but they offered it freely and cheerfully to our children.

Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts.  But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents.

Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”  Mark 12:41-44

I’m always blessed to see God’s Word being lived out right in front of my eyes and for yet another humbling experience to show me God’s grace and love in action.
