Construction has begun on the new property! I guess I should clarify “construction” because yes the barbed wire fence has been installed but now I’m talking stone and mortar.
The wall that will hold the gate is being built while the gate is being made (hopefully I’ll get photos of that progress this week) –
Foundation was laid the day before now to begin the wall
This is looking at the new property from the farm...the building is a private school just behind the property
...until the cows come home - actually these cows are just going out for the day but we did end the day when the cows came home!
Water, right now, is plentiful and readily available for use in construction...glad Bosco has those great white gum boots 🙂
The "fundi" (craftsman) working on the wall
in between each line of stone barbed wire is laid
Chuck and Bosco measuring out the needed barbed wire
time for a chocolate break
Rod's gift has been very helpful and Roman was a bit worried when he couldn't find it
the fundi lays another line of stone
tools of the trade
it's getting higher!
the "supervisor" takes a break...ok, those are my boots!
done for the day but not complete yet
and the end of day conversation between Chuck and Lewis
And as is my modus operandi here are a few random shots –
Brian, a neighbor, checks out the construction
almost can't see this dragonfly he blends in so well
roll of barbed wire
I seem to be fascinated with the stones at the property...so many different colors
will need some sort of lawn mower (goat, cow etc.)!
you see? So many colors of stones
There’s a look at the beginning stages of Caring For Kenya’s Kids property.
Such exciting progress! The stones are beautiful! How does God make them in so many colors? Thanks for the great photos. Carol
