You’ve read about the pit latrine being dug, and if you haven’t you can go here. Now I would like to show you our “general plans” for the property, Caring For Kenya’s Kids and True Vine Children’s Home. First, Caring For Kenya’s Kids (a Kenyan NGO and Saved By God’s Grace sister organization…website coming, hopefully, soon) owns the property which will be the location of True Vine Children’s Home (TVCH).
Plans are moving along slowly (a mandate of the Kenyan government?!) but we are moving along with their speed. We are trusting God for each and every step along the way…if He wants it to move quicker He’ll make it happen or vice versa.
The idea is to have 4 rental apartments to help with TVCH’s expenses. The farm section will help supply vegetables for the kids and the animal area will house cows (grade cows for milking purposes), chickens (for eggs and meat) and pigs (for eating and selling the “extra” piglets). This will help TVCH in becoming self-sustaining – yeah! The play area is also for the kids but may also be a community park for the neighbors.
Here is a rough (very rough) draft of what is planned for the property…disclaimers: 1) this drawing is NOT to scale, just to give you a general idea of what’s on the drawing table and 2) everything, as I mentioned, is according to God’s timing and purpose…if He moves it in a different direction we’ll follow!
