Whew….group is back in the States and Rod and Bobbie left yesterday to head back home…it’s been a great time with all of them and they were truly a blessing to us here at C4KK.

Rod and Bobbie were gracious enough to allow me some shopping time in Nairobi before they were dropped at the airport and they even bought us a delicious lunch 🙂  Unfortunately it wasn’t a smooth trip to the airport because of traffic.  First we ran into a jam:

traffic-jam-nairobi-(2)

Then after lunch it took us 2 hours to travel approximately 6 miles!  They were a bit late and when we finally arrived at the airport we had to say a very quick “see you later” while Chuck and Rod were hauling the luggage out of the truck.  It kind of made the departure a bit easier, no drawn out good byes and from what I heard their take off was delayed anyway so all was good.

I also need to give a shout out to Chris from the group….he taught technology with the kids, showed them how to email and gave them my email address!  Here’s a sample of their emails:

“Hi mom I need to take this chance to appreciate so much I pray God to continue blessing you and your family”

“I would to thank you for great passion and compassion that you have express to us.

We were hopeless but through you GOD gave us hope.

Most of the time we do not appreciate but instead we annoy you therefore I take this opportunity to apologize

May the most gracious God give you longer life so that you can see us prospering .  Personally I love very much.”

“I   wish  you aii  the  best”

“I want rice for lunch”

So you can see they learned much from Chris’ help and it was great seeing them so excited to touch and work with technology…which we are hoping to set up a computer type lab in the upper floor of the mission home!

Today we begin the process of getting back to normalcy.  The kids have begun tutoring so that is helping but I’m sure they are reliving many special moments they had with our visitors…thank you to everyone who helped make that a reality!
