Seems there is always good with bad, dark with light and I’ve been trying to focus on the good more than the bad.  It isn’t always easy because it seems the dark continues to grow but God is working in my heart to get it working correctly :)

It’s the same with ministry and that’s what today’s blog is about…both sides.

Alice is recovering well and should be discharged from the hospital soon…actually she has been discharged but they won’t release her until the bill is paid.  Our friend, Joseck is working on this with fundraisers.

And in this same hospital the hospital staff is making patients get their own water.  Yes you read that correctly.  The patients must go fetch their own water for bathing and drinking.  It is a pitiful state which the government has not seen fit to remedy as of yet.

Hidden Treasures ministry (boys living on the streets) has received a few African drums for their entertainment and enjoyment.  Love seeing the smiles on these young men!

I am sorry to report that one of the boys who had been coming to Hidden Treasures died recently and the boys (and staff) are working through their grief.  Beverly (founder) says, “My prayer is that he knew without doubt he was loved and valued by God and by us.

This is NOT my photo (credit The Hunger Site) and they reported when this little one was given 2 suckers he offered one to the photographer.  It reminded me of our own experiences with the kids in Kenya.  They are extremely giving in situations where I would expect them to be selfish.  At C4KK whenever a child received a gift from a sponsor it wouldn’t be much later when you’d see another child with the clothes on or playing the game.  Food items were the same, the child would eat one or two pieces then begin handing out the rest to their “siblings”.

Am I this free to share?  I would have to answer honestly and say no.  That’s an area of my life I continue to need God’s divine intervention…what I have is not mine but a gift from God to be shared with others.  Easy to say but not so easy to put into practice (for me anyway).

Thank you everyone for your continued prayers for Chuck and I and this ministry.  Our daily prayer is ‘God’s will be done’ and to follow His will on His path, not mine.
