Recently we received a request for assistance for a pregnant woman who was “seriously bleeding”. As you can see she has no bed and was sleeping on the cold floor with only a thin blanket to protect her from the dirt. However, as you’ll see in the following photos she now has a bed!
She was taken to a couple of hospitals which turned her away due to the serious nature of her pregnancy. They were finally able to find a government hospital and she was admitted but two days later the hospital said the problem was beyond them and they referred her to another hospital.
Our friend Ben, who is helping her in this situation with help from Saved By God’s Grace, took her to four different hospitals until they finally found one that could handle her issue. But they still had to buy specific supplies in order for the hospital to help her. That may sound ridiculous but that is how things work in Kenya.
A few days later the mom gave birth to a healthy, tiny (weighing just a little over 5 lbs) baby girl. Saved By God’s Grace helped pay her hospital bill so mom and baby could recuperate at home.
After walking home from the hospital, mom and baby were able to rest in a brand new bed!
