Sometimes I feel this blog says more when I show you what’s happening in Kenya.  Breastfeeding mothers were given essential items, people displaced from their homes due to flooding were given blankets, the sick were given medicine and children were given a sweet treat.

Our friend in Kenya, Ben, tells us a little about what he’s been able to do with your assistance.

Blankets and candies.
The kids are happy to have received a blanket to keep them warm, but their eyes are on the candy line… thank God there was enough candies for all the kids in this camp.

Donated 10 heavy duty blankets today. We have over 70 households living in this primary school after their homes were destroyed by floods.

Supporting the vulnerable in our midst.

I tried the social distancing idea, but the kids were too hungry since they hadn’t eaten anything and their fear was that they would miss the candies that i had brought them. They requested for loaves of bread next time i visit them.

Happening in Nakuru. Covid-19 closed schools and churches, but floods have opened them and now hundreds of displaced families are living in schools and church buildings.

Here we were able to bless breastfeeding mothers.

Shedding tears of joy after receiving a parcel of food and basics. Having to breastfeed without eating was a nightmare to this lady. I am so glad someone gave.

Sometimes i forget to take photos, but one thing I do most of the times is visit places where we have so many children and buy them food, candies, clothes etc. When children see me they come running and sometimes I just put my phone aside and take my time with them.

This evening i managed to bless 24 pmct group members, prevention of mother to child transmission HEi (HIV exposed infants). 18 were present and 6 were to have close relatives come to hospital maybe tomorrow.  This is because the six are bedridden and since it was late and raining we couldn’t make it to their homes.  Will do a follow-up later since the hospital requested i help with home care visits.

The women were very grateful and counted this as a miracle.  They said they had reached the end.

Times have been difficult for many and when tough times hit those who are already impoverished it can be especially devasting.  People who are sick with no means of getting medicine or medical attention, moms who are breastfeeding but have no food for themselves or their other children, families homes have been flooded so they are seeking shelter at schools and churches (and this among a time when social distancing is supposed to be happening).  These are tough times indeed.

A song has been tearing my heart apart lately, it’s Back to God by Reba McEntire.

You gotta get down on your knees, believe
Fold your hands and beg and plead
Gotta keep on praying
You gotta cry, rain tears of pain
Pound the floor and scream His name
‘Cause we’re still worth saving
Can’t go on like this and live like this
We can’t love like this
We gotta give this world back to God

That’s what I’ve been doing for those in Kenya who are suffering…fold my hands and beg and plead…pound the floor and scream His name…because they, like all of us, are worth saving.

Please prayerfully consider a donation, every bit helps to purchase blankets, medicine, food, rent and yes even sweets for the kids.  And your prayers for this ministry and those working in Kenya are greatly appreciated…we gotta give this world back to God.
