I don’t think about being a mom, I’m just mom, been mom to four kids for 23 years!  But with our youngest starting college, and our other three working, going to school and/or searching for direction, it has been on my mind lately.  My “job” as mom, along with dad of course, has been to raise our kids to become God-fearing, young adults who can become productive members of society.  While the road has been strewn with bumps, pot-holes, obstructions and actually a few smooth spots, I thank God for each and every moment.  He has guided me even during the times I wasn’t really looking for His guidance.  His grace got us through and I trust Him to always be there.  And because I know God loves them more than I can ever imagine (just like He loves me and you) and has known them since before the beginning of time, I can put them in my Father’s hands and be confident He will do whatever it takes for them to have that opportunity to choose a relationship with Him.

Now, I’ll always be mom to my four here in the States, but it seems I’m on another journey of motherhood…one that has over 375 kids in it!  Some of the kids at Nice View have a mom/dad/grandparent etc. who take care of them, but many are orphans, along with the kids at Mercy and Eldama Ravine and I pray the Lord will guide me on this new journey and help me to pass the love He has shown me to our kids in Kenya so they can come to know the saving Grace of Jesus.

And look at these precious faces I’ll get to love in person everyday!
