I love these smiling faces and it would be so easy to just assume they are happy.  Granted children find a way to bring some joy into their lives (making a toy out of bottle caps, playing with friends, etc.) but when you know the background you realize this may simply be a moment of happiness.  They will each return to their homes and continue to live in desperate poverty….walking for hours to receive a bit of food, fetching water from unsafe sources or trekking to school with jigger infested feet.

We can’t help everyone but if we can give them just a moment of happiness then isn’t that something?

Learn to do right; seek justice.
    Defend the oppressed.
Take up the cause of the fatherless;
    plead the case of the widow.  Isaiah 1:17

Telling them God loves them is wonderful, but showing them He loves them is even more tangible (IMHO).

Please consider joining with us as we bring a smile to even more faces and embracing Scripture of defending the oppressed, fatherless and widows.
