As the cold winds begin gusting here in Michigan my heart aches for our brothers and sisters in Kenya who continue to seek safe housing, medical attention, assistance in paying school fees and adequate food for the day.  This post is in no way diminishing the suffering, pain, hardships and struggles many of us are dealing with here in the States but perhaps to have each of us take a hard look at our current situation and thank God, yes thank Him, for the blessings He has bestowed on us.  Whatever situation you find yourself in I pray you are turning to God for strength and are finding the assistance you need through various governmental and private programs.

That’s a major difference between finding help here and finding help in Kenya…there they have no food stamps, food banks, no clothing distribution centers, no unemployment assistance.  They are left to fend for themselves and I KNOW God hears their cries…it’s up to us to heed the tug at our hearts which God places there for our good.

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27 (NIV Bible)

Saved By God’s Grace relies on your sacrificial giving to help orphans and widows in Kenya and to share with them the Hope of Jesus Christ.

Velmah is the granddaughter of Grandma Jessica (below) and is overjoyed at what provision God has provided, through you, for her and her grandmother.

I never imagined that I could one day sleep on a bed and mattress in this home.  Now I believe God loves and never forgets

I am so grateful for constructing a new house for us. We have really suffered especially during rain seasons. We couldn’t sleep because the floor would be drenched with water and our beddings would be wet and so when morning comes I have no choice but to put on a wet and cold uniform. Sometimes it was difficult doing my homework. There is no paraffin, and everything is just not available. I am so happy now I will be safe when I want to study even though I have challenges in raising school fees. My grandmother is so old and unable to work like she used to but if I can get someone to pay my fees, I can excell and later become a useful person in my comunity.”

Rhonda Maternity Hospital received supplies, again financed through your generosity, to help the young, often times single, moms and their newborns  The staff were “really grateful for the support.”

Transporting the donated items was done by motorcycle and these drivers are masters at stacking, arranging and getting the items safely to the destination.  Our thanks go out to them as well!

I introduced you to a small family of orphans recently (you can read that here) and they were in need of a new home…..thank you God here it is!

Thank you donors and construction volunteers for making this a reality for this child-head-of-household and showing them Jesus loves and cares for them.

These projects happened because YOU heard the cries for help and assisted with your giving.  I know this holiday season is a bit different then previous years (ok, that might be a little sarcastic) but the needs in Kenya are the same.

Currently we have around $10,000 in projects for this time of year.

Specifically we have:

  • $1,200 in medical needs
  • 2 houses costing around $3,600 for both
  • the Christmas projects total about $4,000

Please prayerfully consider what you can do to make a difference in the life of a widow or orphan in Kenya.  Every dollar helps and our projects can only be done by the Grace of God through your support.

We also have our Gifts of Hope list on our website which gives you some other Christmas gift options for our brothers and sisters in Kenya.  You can easily donate online and write in the comment section which project/gift you would like your donation to be used.

Thank you for all the assistance you have given and we pray you are blessed knowing through those gifts the Love of Jesus is being shown and felt in Kenya.
